CHURCH CAMPING RETREAT
Once a year, toward the end of June, St. Catharines United Mennonite Church has a camping retreat weekend that is open to all ages. It provides a unique opportunity for us to learn about God and fellowship together away from the busyness of our daily lives. The past few years it has been held at Hidden Acres Camp in New Hamburg. The accommodations include dormitory type rooms, cabins and camping sites. Some attendees have also stayed at a nearby hotel and others choose to come for just the day. Delicious meals are available all three days for a minimal cost. Attendees are expected to pay for accommodation and meals.
The retreat begins Friday evening and ends Sunday after lunch. A guest speaker is invited who teaches and inspires us to grow in our daily Christian walk through interactive discussion (Saturday). There is a lot of free time to spend swimming, reading, walking, playing sports, etc. Saturday evening is a campfire with plenty of entertainment that is very popular.
This year our retreat will be held June 25-27, 2010.
